Oil Crisis
CONDITION OF A NATION THAT THRIVES ON PETROLEUM FOR ECONOMY.
Do you people know that crude oil prices have plunged to almost zero per cent? The fight, I mean the last ended fight was being zoned in around the Petroleum. The price plummeting has now taught us that there is more to a country's economy than the Petroleum itself.
Have you ever thought about supporting agriculture? No! Because every year, we've been always taking to the guns and Bush becomes our court where we can settle our issues, not with an outsider but within ourselves. Our able people who were willing to farm their vast lands were devastated due to the animosity which was upsetting their peaceful environment.
Have you ever thought of trying to support small businesses and opening up space for investors to invest their money into these businesses? No! We have all been dreaming of fighting for one's rights at gunpoint and nothing short of that can deter us from achieving what we feel is ours. We fight for our clansmen knowing that they will employ us later after the confusion caused.
We've been having problems with people with ideas, people who want to make South Sudan an exemplary place to live in, we didn't invest in tourism, which can bring and inject some momentum into our dying economy, all we think about was how we can divide the share among the few elites we have in our country not remembering the poor who bleed for the same country.
Do you know what being a citizen means? It means that you should not round my behaviours to the nearest accessible tribe where I look to be coming from. It means that, if it's a fight, I have your back as you do mine! It means I should look out for what's troubling you and try my best to help you out. It doesn't mean you have to hate me because a certain politician said so! Because you think you are being sidelined.
But what do I know? I know nothing! The ball is in your court!
